Summer undergraduate research fellowship
In the summer of 2015, I dedicated 12 weeks to studying how digital media affects stock market prices in 500 companies, alongside my accounting professor, Vicki Tang. I presented at a research symposium and was published in the Georgetown Undergraduate Business Journal.
Read the scholarly article: "How does digital media affect stock prices in large and small-cap firms?" Or if you want a TL;DR...A positive correlation was found between the amount of tweets and posts about a brand with a positive sentiment (using positive verbiage and words), and the stock price of a firm. My hypothesis was proven correct.
